EDIT: i have fixed her wings.
so this i think will be final then. i want to do a better job with the background, but i need a lot more practice, so i'll leave it and do more fan art.

I have been wanting to paint Carnival again since i made the first fan art of her, only i wanted it to be bigger and more detailed. and i finally did ^__^

i hope by now i dont need to explain who she is or what book she is from. if you dont yet know, shame. go out now and find the book called Scar Night by Alan Campbell and read it.

so far i think i'm done with this picture, but i might come back to it, and fix it up a bit latter. i dont know, tell me what you think of it.

This is really nice!

Though, I have a few thoughts on it..

Something about the back wing bugs me. I'm not sure but it just seems positioned wrong. I think it needs to be alittle more to the left and down.

Also, where is her right arm?
I think it would be a good idea to draw it loosely floating behind her just flowing by her her flight.

But overall this is great!
(though I'm lame and have no idea who she is)

argh! your right the wing is very off. thanks. its hard to see when i'v been starring at this all day.

and i'm torn between the arm, at one time i want it in, at other i dont... i shall have to think on that.

ah! dont be lame =) read it! i really cant imagine anyone, who like to read i mean, not loving this book.

And the arm thing is totally up to you, I just was thinking if I were the one flying as she is, I know mine would be extended behind me, like the other.

i hope you do, and then tell me if you liked it or not? i should like to hear what you think of it.

see i try to use only one reff photo as much as possible, because when more then one is mix in for the pose, things go wrong. i feel a bit like Frankenstein at times like that =) and in this one the girl was hanging upside down and the arm was not visible, so i left it out... heh its 50% 50% right now

Well perhaps not a whole arm, but a little addition/inkling of skin where one would be? I dunno XD

Carnival is probably one of my favorite fantasy characters ever. Sure, she'd probably kill you as soon as look at you, but you can't help but cheer for her.
